Pressure
How come adults seem to assume that us teenagers can handle doing so many things at once? You know, like, have a part time job, go to school do extra-curriculars, and keep our grades up? Not to mention do projects, read over school notes, stay healthy, and be organized? Oh, and this portfolio thing? Yea, a big load of crap.
School seems to be the biggest of my concerns right now. I have so much to do during my six hour day. This semester, I have math, peer mediation, socials, and band, with french in an X- Block - a class that starts at 7:30AM. As well, I'm in music council, which may only be one day a week, but at some point, it's going to become more to handle. Even with just one provincial this year, I still have a lot of homework.
I have a part-time job at Dairy Queen. People laugh at me when I say it's stressful, but there's not a job in this world that's not stressful. Except maybe a food critic. I'd wanna do that. Anyways, there's a lot of pressure in fast food. You'd be freaking surprised how many people get mad when their ice cream isn't exactly the way they like it. It's not easy dealing with a boss, and being part of an understaffed team.
Portfoilio is stupid. I hate to sound negative and blunt, but it's stupid. No good can come of it. Aside from a nice red binder with pretty looking papers. We don't need it to get into university or anything, and as of right now, the grades we're trying to keep up to get into good schools could slip because of the time we're wasting doing this crap. Not to mention, the grade ahead of us is the only grade at our school who's never had to do a portfolio or an exit interview.
Anyways that's my first rant in a long time. Hopefully someone read this. =)
